Banana bread
A moist and delicious banana bread can beat even the most gooeiest of cakes. A banana bread is the perfect combination of cake and bread. Where the bread is sweet enough to be a cake, but at the same time it is healthy enough to be an afternoon snack.
In order to make the best banana bread it is best to use black and gooey bananas, so that the bread gets the most powerful banana flavour. Also, they give you the perfect combination of flavour and moist.
This recipe is for a plain, but delicious, banana bread, where you have the possibility of spicing up the bread with some cinnamon and cardemom. You can also add some chocolate or nuts to give the bread some extra crunch.
Ingredients:
- ½ cup butter
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup flour
- 2 tsb baking powder
- ½ tsb salt
- 4-5 bananas
Equipment:
- Bowl
- Mixer (poss. whisk)
- Pan
Preparation:
- Take the butter out of the fridge
- Preheat the oven to 350°F
- Line the pan with parchment paper
Instructions:
- Whisk the softened butter and brown sugar until it is almost white
- Beat in the eggs one at a time
- Whisk carefully as the dough can start to curdle
- Pour in flour, baking powder, salt and mashed bananas
- Sift flour and baking powder to avoid lumps in the dough
- The bananas can easily be mashed with a fork
- If you wanna spice up your bread, you can add 1 tbsp of cinnamon and 2 tsb of cardemom
- Whisk the dough until there are no lumps
- If the dough is very runny, you can add an extra ½ tsb of baking powder
- You can add ½ cup of chocolate and ½ cup of nuts, where the size of the chunks decides, how much the chocolate and nuts will affect the flavour of the bread
- Pour the dough into the pan, and bake it for about 45 min
- Use a toothpick to see if the bread is done. Insert it in the center of the bread and if it comes out clean the bread is done
- Take the bread out of the pan, and let it cool on a wire rack for about 30 min
